Very heavy necklace from Mexico consisting of a large medallion surrounded by Azurite Turquoise and lapis crushed stone. Aztecs carved head suspended from a chain made up of 12 intricately crafted links of sterling and inlay. Incredible work! This necklace makes a statement! Measures approximately 17" around, links are curved and 3/4" wide. Pendant is 3" long and 2 1/4" across. Has a older hook closure that holds tightly. In wonderful condition for its vintage, believed to be from around 1940s. Looks great on. These sell for up to $10,000. This thing is absolutely gorgeous, but I never wear it, so it's time it had a new home.
